How it all started

It all started in May 7, 2007 utilizing 150 acres of cow pasture. The land used for the airport was leased from Ogden Mills and was named after him, the Mills Fields Principal Airport. It was only in 1931 when its name was changed to San Francisco Municipal Airport and then in 1955 it was replaced to San Francisco International Airport.  The airport is hub to major airlines providing flights to Asia, Australasia-Oceania and Europe.

The Airport's Terminals

The San Francisco International Airport has four terminals. Terminal 1 and 3 are used for Domestic flights and Terminal 2 and four are used for International flights.  The first three terminals were formerly known as North, Central and South Terminals. South Terminal is now Terminal 1, Central for Terminal 2 and North for Terminal 3.
