Thirsty Bear Brewing Company opened in September 1996, culminating Ron and Raggi's untiring efforts. The Brewery and Restaurant are housed in a charming historic brick building directly across the street from the Moscone Center and the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts.
It has earned fame as the first beer pub to dish out delectable Spanish fare. Executive Chef Trish Tracey incorporates some of the finest specialty ingredients from Spain, including manchego cheese, jamon serrano, chorizo sausage, olive oil, and piquillo peppers. Tapas which is easy on the wallet, is the hot favorite. Other delicacies include: wilted spinach leaves with pine nuts and raisins; and tender, fried calamari with capers.
It brews up nine different varieties of beer to quench your thirst. You can have a swig of caramel flavor Brown Bear Ale or fruity Valencia Wheat. During the week, this is a popular place for parties. Weekends are overcrowded. The dinning hall looks alluring with colorful painting and exposed brick walls.
Thirsty Bear is the perfect place for your private event. Whether you are planning a dinner for twenty five or a festive event for 700, Thirsty Bear is the ideal venue to entertain your guests.

Posted by Rodel, 21 February, 2008My husband loves to drop by at thirsty bear brewing each time we visit my sister in law in San Francisco. Not only is he after the bear as well as with the delectable sausages that he loves to munch. At Thirsty bear, its always happy hour.
