Delfina

Fashioned after small mom and pop restaurant found throughout Italy, Delfina located in a bustling neighborhood trattoria in San Francisco's Mission District, brings a slice of Italy into San Francisco milieu. The food is Italian in spirit- simple, seasonal cooking which belies it's depth of flavor.

Delfina catapulted to fame when it threw open its doors in 1985. The place was jampacked and received rave reviews.

Bathed in yellow color with shinning mirrors and beautifully placed tables, Delfina is an attractive place for a meal.

It welcomes visitors of all types be it the younger generation or the older peace- loving couples.

It offers food with a chilly- salty taste. There is an irresistible combination of bitter greens, toasted walnuts, crispy pancetta bits and parmesan shards. Other favorite dishes include flatiron steak, French fries and buttermilk which are sheer bliss.

Their stupendous profiteroles (stuffed with espresso ice cream and doused in shiny, dark- chocolate sauce) taste divine. The wine list is short but discretely chosen.
