Opened way back in 1935, it has stood the test of time and remains a popular entertainment joint. In its long and chequered career it has operated as a Spanish restaurant, a country- western bar, and one of the country's first all- women's night clubs.
Located in the historic Mission District of San Francisco on Valencia Street between 17th and 18th Street, they are open seven days a week from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
You must be over 21 years of age to visit this club. Pulsating throbbing music every night like play jazz, funk, soul, Afro- Cuban, hip- hop, rock, indie rock, or alternative music mesmerize you.
The building is a double storied structure with the main bar downstairs, a secondary bar adjoins the dance floor and stage upstairs.
The Elbo is one of the City's better spots for small live shows, bringing jazz, Latin and funk bands to an ethnically diverse and usually well- dressed crowd.
Every Sunday the Elbo hosts a theme night where you can have fun and gaiety. Many great artists like The Greyboy Allstars, Charlie Hunter, Oranj Symphonette and the Broun Fellinis have made their mark at Elbos. It's bar lures you with numerous tap brews, and an extensive liquor selection. If you are tired of music and dance then you can avail of the pool table.
Business hours: Open 5 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Happy hour 5 - 9 p.m., off all drinks, Anchor Steam
