Cops who risked lives are honored

Three Bay Area police officers were honored today for their heroism with the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor — the state’s highest law-enforcement award. Officers Brian Paul and Joe Romeo of the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Department were honored in a Sacramento ceremony for saving a driver whose car had rolled backward down a steep embankment Oct. 17, 2008.
