Comedy Celebration day

In 1975, comedian Jose Simon had a brainwave. He wanted to give San Francisco, the city which has given birth to and nurtured so many comedians, a free outdoor performance by comic artists. Since 1981 more than 500 of the world's finest comedians have performed free- of- charge for over a half- million people at Comedy Day held at Sharon Meadow.

Comedy day is a free outdoor comedy concert which features 30 top comedians. The show lasting for four hours, will make you double up with laughter. Over the years more than 500 comedians have entertained the citizens of San Francisco and brought laughter and joy to their lives – a unique gift to mankind. The act is performed and organized by the city's professional comedian community like The Punch Line, Cobb's Comedy Club, The Purple Onion/SF Sketch Fest, Pepper Belly's, and Jose Simon (founder of Comedy Day).

The State of California and The City supports it, too.

You can purchase food and drink from the local vendors. Donations are also accepted for a worthy cause related to the city.
