Carnival San Francisco celebrates the culture and spirits of hot Latin America and balmy Caribbean. It began 28 years ago by a group of local musicians, artists and residents of San Francisco.

This lively festival draws local residents as well as tourists. You can dance Salsa, Samba, Reggae, Tango, Hip- Hop, Merengue, Calypso, Cha Cha Cha, Cumbia, and Mambo with vive and gusto.

Food vendors rustle up traditional delicacies while exquisite handicrafts from Caribbean and Latin America delight you. Carnaval's Grand Parade is a unique multi- cultural event that celebrates the traditions of many countries and cultures around the world.

Brazilian- style “escola” contigents dance on the streets with startling exotic head dresses or eye catching Bahia skirts. Caribbean artists perform music and dance of Cuba, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad and the Bahamas. Other Parade artists include Mexican Aztec performers, traditional African dancers and drummers, Polynesian dancers, Japanese Taiko drummers, Chinese Lion Dancers, giant puppets and folkloric artists representing Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia & Perú, and special children's contingents.
