Arab Film Festival

The Arab Film Festival acts as a medium to showcase their rich cultural heritage as opposed to their stereo type images presented on the screen by movie makers the world over.

The film festival is Bay Area's most successful annual Arab cultural event. The festival promotes the works of Arab film makers which reflects their history, culture, art, politics as well as creative ideas.

Each Festival's independently produced feature films and documentaries explore the complex social, political, and personal issues confronting contemporary Arabs. The 10th Annual Arab Film festival runs from September 8- 17 at various locations throughout the Bay Area.

The mission of the festival is to create public awareness about the richness of Arab culture. It provides a realistic portrait of life in the middle east. The education program for the 10th annual Arab festival aims to create a strong bond between the Arab film festival and the local educational community.

By focusing on education, understanding and awareness, their program introduces students to Arab filmmaking and celebrates both differences and the shared values of many diverse cultural groups that make up the Arab World.
