O'Reilly's Irish Pub and Restaurant brings a whiff of balmy Ireland to the heart of San Francisco. The bar at O'REILLY'S is dominated by a magnificent mahogany back bar, 30 feet long and 15 feet tall, with a canopy supported by gracefully tapered pillars. The bar is steeped in old world charm. A three- lamp fixture dating to 1875, which originally hung after a billiard table, graces the bar. Life sized portraits of brilliant Irish writers like Oscar Wilde, W.B. Yeats and Samuel Beckett, adorn its walls adding a literary touch.
From Tuesday to Thursday night live classic old melodies recreate the charm of old Ireland. If you're in the mood for stout ale or a tasty pint of Guinness, O'Reilly's should be your first stop. The food menu includes standards like steak and kidney pie and shepherd's pie, smoked salmon boxty (a thick potato pancake), cottage pie, or excellent fish and chips.
The traditional Irish menu offers a plethora of deep- fried seafood starters, including savory crab cakes and all time favorite prawns. 20 beers, stouts, ales and intoxicating ciders are on tap at all times, and a wide range of bottled beer is available to quench your thirst.
In April 2007, the place is going to celebrate the 8th annual San Francsico Oyster and Beer Festival.
